There
are applications where extreme weight and on some larger carts,
where
more than four casters are needed to support the carts or to
facilitate rollability.
Four swivel casters are mounted on the corners, the rigid casters
are mounted
at the midpoint of the cart and are normally mounted slightly
higher, providing
a slight tipping action to the cart. This enables the operator
to navigate over
obstructions on the floor surface such as cables, cracks and
thresholds.
